Here's more info: UPPSALA PROGRESSIVE ROCK FESTIVAL 2008: The Swedish Art Rock Society (S.A.R.F. Crimson) have announced the four bands who will take to the stage at this year's Uppsala Festival on Saturday, 9 August between 16.00-22.00. Uppsala Festival 2008 The stage is called Parksnäckan and is located in the centre of Uppsala. It is placed in the city park, Stadsparken (Stadsträdgården), on the west shore of the city river, Fyrisån, between the city hospital, Akademiska sjukhuset, and Fyrisån. The arranger of the festival, Svenska Art Rock Föreningen Crimson, SARF Crimson (in translation The Swedish Art Rock Society Crimson), is a music society which was founded in Uppsala in 1992. The society's main purpose is to promote and expose the progressive rock music genre. Welcome to the city that has been giving birth to the following progressive rock bands: Samla Mammas Manna, Kaipa, Fantasia, Manticore, The Flower Kings, Pär Lindh Project (PLP), Ensemble Nimbus, Indisciplined Lucy, Violent Silence and Flying Food Circus. The price for one ticket is 100 Swedish kronor, that is, in today's rating (080628) about 17 US dollars, 9 GBP or 11 Euro. Free admission for children under the age of 12. Mixing sessions for the forthcoming Lindh/Kopecky CD The Black Doors are now well underway. The record consists of original tracks as well as two prog rock reworkings of compositions by classical composers. The drums for the session were performed by Magnus Brandell (and Stefan Bergman on one track). Please check back for The Black Doors release info. 
Far Corner is currently back in the studio working on the follow-up to Endangered (Cuneiform Records, 2007). More than half the CD is recorded, and the material's as complex and twisted as ever.

In March of '08 I joined Two Loons For Tea, the dreamy art-pop band from Seattle, for the Midwest leg of their Nine Lucid Dreams tour. Founding members Jonathan Kochmer (guitarist/composer) and Sarah Scott (singer/composer) were joined by none other than my long-time partner-in-crime drummer Craig Walkner (Far Corner, Snarling Adjective Convention, Yeti Rain) and vibes player Tacket Brown. Past members of TLFT include Pat Mastelotto and Trey Gunn of King Crimson, Brad Houser of Critters Buggin' and Edie Brickell and New Bohemians, drummer extraordinaire Matt Chamberlain (Tori Amos, Fiona Apple, Pearl Jam), avant-garde violinist Eyvind Kang, and many, many others. I recently had fun playing bass on a few tracks of the forthcoming Spirits Burning CD. SB is a spacey, psychedelic, rock-in-opposition band from the San Francisco area. I'm sorry to announce that the former PLP lead vocalist Magdalena Berg passed away in Dec of 2007. She was a talented and kind soul, and it was my pleasure to have played music with her. She will indeed be missed by many.
